What do you love/enjoy most about what you do?
I enjoy meeting new and innovative people and companies to see how we can collaborate with each other and make connections (including indirectly) that benefit the region.
What significant changes have you seen take place in your profession/area of expertise through the years?
There has been substantial restructures in all sectors including Land Development, Mining, and Utilities across most types of organisations, including: Construction, Consulting, Government and Manufacturing. There is new strong support for innovation between Industry, Government, TAFE and Universities to create new industries. This is an exciting time to be involved with those projects.
What do you see as the coming trends in your profession/area of expertise?
The growth of renewable energy and associated energy storage will be an area of growth. This will range from on-grid with renewables, on-grid with renewables and storage, and off-grid solutions. Energy storage with renewables is the true way to reduce CO2.
What do you get from attending forums and networking events?
You get to meet people, companies and opportunities you did not know even existed. This helps understand the market to convert those opportunities and innovations to business solutions.
