September General Members Meeting – Hosted by Hedweld Group of Companies

After being postponed in May due to poor weather, it was fantastic to see such a strong turnout for our September General Members Meeting, hosted at Hedweld’s impressive Mount Thorley facilities.

Hedweld has earned a global reputation for innovation, designing and manufacturing the Trilift® range of component handling equipment, Safe-Away® access systems, and agricultural solutions through Milbrotec. While humble in approach, their achievements and capabilities are world-class. We thank Sandy, Garth, Mark, Conrad and the entire Hedweld team for their warm hospitality and for sharing valuable insights into their operations.

Hedweld’s long-standing partnership with HunterNet Career Connections was also highlighted, with the company having hosted more than 60 apprentices and trainees over the years—a true testament to their commitment to nurturing the future workforce of our industry.

The meeting program included:

  • Welcoming our newest member – COOLORANGE

  • Renewable energy insights – Reclaim Solar Energy, who also supplied Hedweld’s solar system

  • Community initiatives – Aon and Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern NSW promoting their upcoming Melbourne Cup Luncheon, supporting both RMHC Northern NSW and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service

  • Member spotlight – CPR Group Australia, with an overview of their capabilities presented by Alexander Cooper

  • Future workforce focus – A timely reminder from Andrew Fisher that applications are now open for the 2026 HunterNet Future Leaders Program, encouraging members to support the next generation of leaders

On a lighter note, our HunterNet Career Connections socks—proudly supplied by Hip Pocket Workwear & Safety (Newcastle, Maitland & Thornton)—made their debut in photos, and will soon be sported by all HCC Apprentices and Trainees.
