With recent data released by Insurance and Care NSW (iCare) which revealed psychological claims in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie region have significantly increased over the past 5 years, and now equate to 7.5% of all workers’ compensation claims in the region, 40% higher than the average in NSW, this session is aimed to help members prevent, understand and support mental health injuries in their workplaces.

The session will provide members with an understanding of:

• How to navigate the legal landscape of psychological injuries, particularly section 11A

• How you can support a work-related mental/psychological injury to improve personal recovery and/or return to work

There will also be an informal panel discussion which will allow members to ask questions and share their experiences with our experienced Work Health and Safety Consultant, and Workers’ Compensation Consultant.
