Visualisation Enhancement for Contracts
Venue: The Green Room – Merewether Carlton Club
Date: 16th February
Time:8-9.30am, please arrive before 8am
The process of developing a suitable contract between parties can often be laborious, time consuming, costly, and require the involvement of lawyers and does not always achieve the aim of establishing an agreement which is clearly understood by all stakeholders within each party. This can be exacerbated when the deliverables lack comprehensive and clear definition, potentially leading to uncertainty in the interpretation of the completion of supply, particularly if parties are pursuing a novel outcome.
You are invited to come along to gain an insight into a novel approach to mitigating the complicated and exacting world of contracting in which key stakeholders in an undertaking such as project managers and engineers can “reclaim” greater control of the process with confidence that their interests are not simply subsumed by legal risk overcorrection. See how using visualisation as an enhancement to conventional contracts can be used to better reach a more tangible and user-friendly agreement, particularly in collaborative undertakings where the technical risk is high and there is a need for flexibility in what “done looks like”.
Robotic Systems – Unlike a traditional contract that is hundreds of pages long and impossible to understand without a legal degree, our agreement is designed to be understandable, accountable and memorable for everyone.
SWS Lawyers worked with Robotic Systems to develop a ‘visual contract’ to address some of the frustrations of a more traditional contract model. They provided guidance to ensure that the contract model and process retained the necessary basics to create a legally binding relationship between the parties, while also assisting Robotic Systems to understand the risks of the novel approach.
