HunterNet Future Leaders Program Off to a Strong Start in 2025!
The 2025 HunterNet Future Leaders Program (FLP) is in full swing, and what a fantastic start it’s been! With three insightful sessions already under their belts, this year’s cohort is diving deep into leadership, networking, and well-being—all key ingredients for professional success.
Session 1: Elevating Networking Connections The first session set the stage for a year of growth, with Julie Palmer from Relatus leading an engaging discussion on how to build trust and influence through networking. Participants explored strategies for making a strong first impression, mastering active listening, and personalising communication—essential skills for any aspiring leader.
Session 2: Authentic Leadership with Jeremy “Jez” Dooley Next up, the group had the privilege of hearing from leadership coach Jeremy “Jez” Dooley, who challenged traditional leadership ideas with his unique blend of storytelling, humour, and real-world experience. The key takeaway? Leadership is less about titles and more about authenticity, influence, and human connection.
Session 3: Mental Health & Well-being with Steven Gamble In their third session, participants shifted focus to mental health and resilience with Steven Gamble, Founder of Anchor Health. From stress management to self-awareness, attendees walked away with practical tools to support their own well-being and foster a healthier workplace culture. A highlight was the concept of ‘Leading with Vulnerability’—breaking down mental health stigma by embracing openness and honesty.
Celebrating 10 Years of Future Leaders! 🎉 Amidst these powerful sessions, the program also marked a major milestone—10 years of shaping future industry leaders! The celebration at the Newcastle Club brought together past and present participants, mentors, and committee members for a night of reflection and inspiration. The impact of the program over the last decade has been phenomenal, launching careers and fostering leadership across industries.
