Igniting a Passion for Manufacturing: June Educational Pathways Program Wrap-Up

At HunterNet Career Connections, we believe the future of our industries starts with sparking curiosity and confidence in the next generation. That’s exactly what our June Manufacturing & Engineering Educational Pathways Program (EPP) set out to achieve—and it delivered in spades.

Throughout the program, participants stepped into the welding bays at TAFE NSW, rolling up their sleeves and immersing themselves in hands-on learning. From mastering the basics of cutting and shaping metal to striking their very first weld, these budding tradespeople gained practical skills that lay the foundation for rewarding careers in manufacturing and engineering.

Putting theory into action, the group capped off their experience by crafting their own fire pits—a project that brought together creativity, precision, and plenty of enthusiasm. It was fantastic to watch their confidence grow with every spark and every completed weld.

A big thank you to TAFE NSW and all the dedicated trainers and supporters who bring these programs to life. Your commitment helps open doors for young people to explore pathways they may never have considered—and equips them with the skills our industries need to thrive.

The success of the June EPP is just the beginning. Our team is already hard at work coordinating a series of additional Educational Pathways Programs across different trades and industries in the months ahead. Each program is designed to inspire, inform and prepare the next wave of skilled workers ready to make their mark.

We’re excited to continue shaping bright futures with our 2025 Educational Pathways Program and look forward to welcoming many more enthusiastic participants as we showcase the incredible opportunities a career in manufacturing and engineering can offer.
