AltEnergy is a supporter of Surfers for Climate (www.surfersforclimate.org.au), who are organising an event during the Newcastle Surfest event to be held on Newcastle beaches throughout February and March 2026.
Newcastle Surfest (https://www.surfest.com/) is the largest surfing festival in the southern hemisphere, with more than 800 male and female competitors from across the globe competing across nine events, culminating with the final event of the World Surf League, Challenger Series from March 9 -15.
Surfers for Climate plans to host the TUBIES x Surfest challenge on the weekend of 14–15 February 2026 at Dixon Park Beach. The working format is a one-day tag-team style event for tradies and building industry crews.
One of the event’s key objectives is to increase knowledge about employment opportunities in the renewable energy sector for the local trades and other sectors.
