Agribusiness

Our Agribusiness cluster provides agribusiness consulting, training and opportunities.

Growing agribusiness and opportunity in the Hunter

While we have some connectivity to agribusiness leadership, it’s an emerging focus for HunterNet. We’re looking to grow our expertise and knowledge in this area. Long-term, we’re looking at alignment with other regions to grow opportunities.

A small number of our members are currently engaged or looking at their future involvement in the agribusiness sector. It’s a sector that’s on the rise and one that we’re keen to help industry develop.

NSW offers ideal conditions for growing, producing and manufacturing food. As well as the climate being suitable for crop growing, the production environment is well-regulated. It also provides access to Australia's eastern seaboard and attractive export markets.

Our Agribusiness cluster goals

  • Highlight emerging project/manufacturing opportunities so that members can pursue them as collaborations or individually
  • Educate members on trends and changes such as advanced manufacturing so that members can strategically consider what’s required to position themselves for future relevance in the agribusiness sector
  • Provide exposure and assistance in grant submission to help further opportunities for our manufacturers
  • Work with local entities, including RDA Orana and BCCM, to exploit these opportunities
