Port of Newcastle

The Port of Newcastle is the world's largest coal export port, and is one of Australia's largest ports by throughput tonnage. Port of Newcastle is the commercial manager of the port and holds a 98 year lease with the NSW Government which commenced on 30 May 2014.

About Us

Port of Newcastle is responsible for vessel scheduling, property management and port development, trade development, cruise shipping, dredging and survey, wharf and berth services, maintenance of major port assets, and pricing for associated services.

Strategically positioned at the gateway to the largest regional economy in New South Wales, with close proximity to Sydney, the port is the economic and trading centre for the Hunter Valley and much of northern New South Wales and is a critical supply chain interface for the movement of cargo.
