Putting the puzzle together with precision

Our service includes:

  • direct contact with technical team;
  • DFM consultation from metallurgical staff on request;
  • quality assurance processes for customer furnished kits;
  • BGA reclamation including removal, re-balling and replacement;
  • multiple high-speed pick and place lines;
  • vapour phase / condensation reflow;
  • X-ray inspection;
  • 3D and 2D automated optical inspection (AOI);
  • ionic contamination testing; and
  • mechanical assembly.

High performance electronics

Our niche market is high performance electronics. These electronics need to:

  • perform on demand;
  • survive harsh environments; and
  • operate for extended lifetimes.

Examples of high performance electronics include but are not limited to:

  • avionics (e.g. satellites);
  • high performance computing;
  • radar systems;
  • autonomous systems; and
  • battery management systems.

Examples of harsh operating environments include but are not limited to:

  • exposure to extreme temperature fluctuations; and
  • vibration and shock events during normal operating or launch conditions.

Ball grid array (BGA) specialists

We have been providing BGA reballing services to our customers for more than 20 years. Our reballed BGAs are performing on demand in harsh environments for Australia and its allies across land, air, sea and space.

Research and development support

Highly innovative and emerging technology need custom techniques to achieve the outcomes demanded by harsh environments. If your prototype pushes the boundaries of manufacturability,  we can help.

We have developed specialised processes to achieve robust and compliant solder joints for our customers across land, air, sea and space.

We take pride in supporting Australian designed technology from TRL 3 prototypes to global supply chain products.

Each prototype presents unique challenges. Please contact us to discuss the needs of your project.

Who have we supported?

We have supported

  • Original Equipment Manufactures  (OEM's) for emerging and disruptive products
  • multiple Sovereign Industrial Capability Priorities (SICPs)
  • OEM's manufacturing under licence
  • the ASKAP radio telescope for CSIRO; and
  • an air traffic management satellite constellation

Compliance

  • ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management
  • AS 4811:2022 Workforce Screening
  • ISO 31000:2018 Risk Management

Why choose Puzzle Precision?

We have experience working with:

  • Strive for a 100% yield rate because of  the cost of PCB's and components
  • High value production runs of complex and unique designs;
  • RF and microwave circuits;
  • rigid and flexible PCBs, including FR-4, PTFE (Teflon), ceramic and aluminium substrates;
  • BGAs with over 2000 spheres, µBGAs ≤ 0.4mm pitch, LCCs, QFNs;
  • packages with fine-pitch leads ≤ 0.3mm pitch, e.g. QFP, TSOP; and
  • R&D process development for emerging technology.
