Our innovation network strategy
Throughout our 30-year history, our innovation network has always had a clear direction on where we’re headed and how to get there. Our current Strategic Roadmap is the result of the combined expertise of our Board, internal team, and an independent external advisor.
We always work to put our members first. Because of this, our Strategic Roadmap was also created with input and collaboration from our members, which included member interviews, as well as stakeholders, partners and other peak bodies in the Hunter region.
Key areas of our strategic road map
- Interview members
- 3-year future state
- Long-term milestone
- Short-term milestones
- Strategy executive plan
- Business environment
- Approach to market
- Performance momentum

Applying the horizon approach
To expand on our strategic direction and communicate it clearly and concisely, we adopted the ‘Three Horizons Model’ of growth. This breaks our direction, activities and actions into meaningful and easy to view stages. This is shown in the graphic below.
