Under direct supervision and mentorship, the apprentice will learn foundational skills for a lifelong career in Aviation. BAE Systems is an internationally recognised defence and security organisation providing aircraft sustainment, engineering and support services for the Hawk Lead-In-Fighter and F-35 Fighter Jet. Apprentices will be located at Williamtown and actively involved in aircraft maintenance operations within a skilled and fast-paced team environment.Â

MEA41318 – Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Structures)
Structures Apprentices under direct supervision are responsible for the production, maintenance and repair sheet metal, bonded and non-metallic composite material and components on aircraft and/or aeronautical product in an aviation environment, at a standard to meet all regulatory and airworthiness requirements. As Structures Apprentices you will be required to:Â
- Fabricate and repair aircraft control surfaces and structuresÂ
- Install aircraft structural componentsÂ
- Assembly of aircraft structures for maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraftÂ
- Inspect and assess aircraft structures and control surfaces for serviceabilityÂ
MEA40718 – Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical)
Mechanical Apprentices under direct supervision are responsible for the maintenance and repair of aircraft systems and components in an aviation environment, at a standard to meet all regulatory and airworthiness requirements. As Mechanical Apprentices you will be required to:Â
- Remove and install aircraft systems and componentsÂ
- Repair and overhaul of aircraft and aeronautical productÂ
- Test & troubleshoot aircraft systemsÂ
- Aircraft launch and recovery operations
MEA40618 – Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics)
Avionics Apprentices under direct supervision are responsible for inspecting, servicing, repairs, test and troubleshooting of the avionic/electrical systems and components on the aircraft in an aviation environment, at a standard to meet all regulatory and airworthiness requirements. As Avionics Apprentices you will be required to:Â
- Remove and install aircraft avionic/electrical systems and componentsÂ
- Repair and overhaul of aircraft avionic/electrical componentsÂ
- Test & troubleshoot aircraft systemsÂ
- Aircraft launch and recovery operationsÂ
