Apprentice Fitter Machinist

HunterNet Career Connections, in partnership with their host company, have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to begin their career as a Fitter/Machinist and gain a nationally recognised qualification. Joining our host at Toronto, you will be working with an expert in their field, whilst completing a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical.

As an apprentice, you will have an enthusiasm to learn and a long-term interest in the trade, as well as an eagerness and enthusiasm to build your knowledge. You will be willing to put in the effort to develop your skills and be able to listen and follow instructions from your supervisor.

As an Apprentice your daily duties may include:

  • Read and Interpret engineering drawings to complete set ups and precision machining of high-quality manufactured products.
  • Operating Machinery
  • Maintenance of machines and tooling
  • Quality assurance
  • Occasional Deliver and pick up of products
  • Manual and automated machining
  • 3D modelling and CNC programming
  • Assist with packing and shipping of finished products
  • General housekeeping duties
  • Light assembly work
