Apprentice Electrician – Renewables Focus

HunterNet Career Connections, in partnership with our host company MJJs Electrics, is seeking two motivated individuals to commence a full-time Electrical Apprenticeship with a focus on renewable energy. Based in Morisset, this is an exciting opportunity to kickstart your electrical career while gaining hands-on experience in the booming solar industry. You’ll be working alongside qualified tradespeople and completing your Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician through TAFE.

MJJs Electrics is a growing local business specialising in the design and installation of solar systems, supporting the transition to clean, sustainable energy across the Hunter region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the installation of solar panels and associated equipment
  • Perform cable runs, terminations, and switchboard work
  • Work safely at heights on rooftops and outdoor job sites
  • Support general electrical tasks and labouring duties
  • Learn safe work practices and apply WHS procedures on site
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition
  • Follow instructions from qualified tradespeople and supervisors
  • Attend scheduled training and complete theory-based study requirements

What we’re looking for:

  • White Card and Working at Heights ticket (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current driver’s licence and reliable transport
  • Interest in electrical and solar energy work
  • Physically fit and comfortable working at heights
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to learning
  • Able to follow direction and work in a team environment
  • School leavers encouraged to apply
