Warners Bay – FULL TIME
HunterNet Career Connections, in partnership with our host company, are seeking an Engineering Trainee to join the team in Warners Bay. This is an exciting opportunity for a school leaver or someone looking for a career change to complete the Certificate II Engineering over 12 months whilst working full-time.
Our host company is a leading Australian manufacturer and supplier of steel building products including roofing, cladding, rainwater, structural and fencing. You will be working with a dedicated team in the sales department.

The duties of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Learn to operate machinery to manufacture products in line with specifications and standards whilst following the production schedule
- Ensure that machinery is utilised efficiently by following the relevant manufacturing instructions
- Ensure that products are continuously inspected by means of quality control throughout the manufacturing process to maintained the required quality levels
- Ensure that product is packaged by following the relevant packaging instructions as written in the work instructions
- Use lifting equipment including forklifts (should this become a requirement, a license shall be provided)
- Ensure that plant cleanliness and housekeeping standards are maintained at the highest possible level
- Work within a team environment to ensure productivity
- Troubleshoot problems and adjust machine settings as required and shown
- Report any injuries and unsafe conditions, practices and equipment
- Follow all Work Health and Safety policies, procedures, relevant work instructions, and safe work method statements and risk assessments
- Comply with all relevant company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as requested by the Plant Manager
What we’re looking for:
- Sound literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Willingness to work, including shift work if required
- Forklift licence or the willingness to obtain
- Good understanding of Work Health and Safety in a factory environment
- Committed to completing practical and theory-based study requirements of a 12-month traineeship
As part of the recruitment process, suitable applicants will be required to complete a pre-employment medical testing, including drug and alcohol screening.
