Are you looking to kickstart your career? HunterNet Career Connections, in partnership with our host company Downer, are looking for a Mechanical SBAT for 2026.
As a School Based Trainee, you will have the enthusiasm to learn and an interest in the trade, as well as an eagerness to further your knowledge. You will be willing to put in the effort to develop your skills and be able to listen and follow instructions from your supervisors and leading hands.
Daily duties may include:
- Commitment to attending and completing all requirements of RTO
- Report all matters and issues to management in a timely manner
- Always follow and apply safe work practices
- Ensure tools and machinery are effectively maintained and secure
- Ensure all work is performed to specification, agreed schedule, and to a high-quality standard
- Participate with analysis of work order to determine information such as materials to be used, type of operations, and sequence of operations to complete the task
- Participate in supervised electrical or mechanical work
About you:
- Commencing Year 11 in 2026
- Sound literacy and numeracy skills
- Sound verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work under instruction and take guidance
- Mechanical aptitude
