Sandgate – FULL TIME
HunterNet Career Connections in partnership with Australian Industrial Plastics are seeking a proactive and motivated individual to start immediately in Sandgate as a Trainee Plastic Fabricator.
Australian Industrial Plastics are a market leader, with the capacity to deliver various projects for a range of sectors including, but not limited to water, agriculture, construction, defence, energy, environment, industry, infrastructure, manufacturing, and mining.
We are looking for a hardworking individual with a strong work ethic who is interested in completing a Certificate in Engineering. The successful applicant will complete this traineeship over 12 months while gaining on-the-job experience with an industry-leading company.
As a Trainee your main duties will include:
- PE, PP & PVC pipe fabrication and installation within the workshop and worksite environments
- Use butt, electrofusion and extrusion welding equipment alone with general hand tools
- Plastic fabrication (tanks, vessels etc.)
- Understand and interpret isometric drawings
- Complete all on and off the job training requirements
- Attend TAFE and maintain a high standard of work
- Willingness to travel occasionally
What we’re looking for:

Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in plastic welding/installation
- Relevant certificates in poly welding and extrusion welding of thermoplastics
- White Card, Forklift licence, EWP, Excavator and Dogging ticket
- Current manual drivers licence
