Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations
HunterNet Career Connections, in partnership with our host company Poly Pipe are seeking a Logistics Operator Trainee to join their team in Toronto. We are looking for a motivated individual who is interested in completing a Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations. The successful applicant will complete this nationally recognised qualification, while gaining on the job experience over 24-months.
Poly Pipe was founded in 2006, where it became an industry specialist in the manufacturing of Polyethylene pipe systems for use in Data, water, gas, waste and energy. Located in the Hunter Valley, Poly Pipe has a modern extrusion and purpose-built manufacturing facility fitted with the latest equipment and has a high attention to detail, renowned for their quality assurance with all of its products.
As a Supply Chain Trainee your duties will include:
- Advise employees, suppliers, and customers on material placement, storage, and pickup
- Prepare and load customer orders for dispatch
- Operate, refuel, and maintain forklift daily
- Transport stock with proper documentation; report and document any damaged or rejected goods
- Manoeuvre vehicles into position for loading and unloading
- Conduct required daily pre-start checks and regular inspections on vehicles; report any faults or defects
- Carry out basic vehicle maintenance including purchasing fuel and oil as required
- Estimate load weights and ensure safe, compliant distribution
- Complete administrative tasks, including obtaining signatures on manifests, delivery dockets, and supplier pickups
- Maintain a work diary with details of trips
- Monitor vehicle performance, including fuel and oil usage, and tyre condition
- Assist with manufacturing practices and plant stocktakes during periods of low demand
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace and be actively involved in site safety programs
- Perform additional duties as required
About you:
- Ability to work in a team and in a collaborative environment
- Exceptional time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of effective team management
- Be willing to gain a qualification along with forklift licence and heavy vehicle drivers’ licence (if applicable)
- Ability to work safely at all times
- Commitment and drive to complete the traineeship
As part of the recruitment process, suitable applicants will be required to complete a pre-employment medical testing, including drug and alcohol screening.
