SHAC is a Newcastle-based Architectural Practice established in 1998. Led by 5 directors with over 20 years working together, our team of 30 delivers architecture, landscape and interior design services to Education, Health, Industrial, Aviation, Residential, Commercial, and Cultural/Civic sectors throughout the Hunter Region and NSW.
SHAC's principal markets include Specialist Education Design for the NSW Department of Education, Catholic Schools and Independent Schools; Health Facility Design for Hunter New England Health; Industrial Infrastructure Design for Ausgrid, TfNSW, Local Councils, Regional Airports and Port Authorities; and Sustainable Design Solutions for Resources Companies and Facilities. SHAC also has extensive experience professional design services for Civic, Hospitality and Commercial projects, as well as masterplanning and design for civic centres and shared community precincts.
SHAC's great strength is in understanding, communication and collaboration, enabling it to synthesise highly functional and efficient spaces with aesthetic, cultural and environmental sensitivity, while meeting the pragmatic project requirements of site, budget and timeline. SHAC works across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and concept design through to documentation, contract administration and construction phase services, with a hands-on, collaborative approach to every project.
