| Back in 1976 at the International Coal Show in Detroit, Pyott-Boone Electronics (PBE) launched the spider logo for the very first time and a spider was painted in the bucket of a scoop manufactured by our sister company Pyott-Boone Manufacturing.
“Find The Spider” stickers went up around the convention centre daring people to track it down. Only 10,000 were ever made. Never duplicated. Never reprinted. By the early 80s those stickers were legendary in the coalfields; people were offering serious money for an original and counterfeits started popping up trying to cash in on it. Here’s the thing though; the spider was never just a gimmick. It has stuck around because it meant something back then and it still has meaning today. A spider’s legs all work independently but move as one toward a single goal. That’s exactly what we’ve built since. Today those “legs” stretch further than anyone in 1976 could have imagined. Over the years since our team has worked on almost every continent, with more than 30 worldwide locations and delivered thousands of projects in many sectors. One team that keeps showing up wherever the work takes us. Different countries. Different crews. Different challenges every time. Same spider. Same standard. Here’s to the next leg of the journey.
